Government Statistics

Government agencies are the primary source of U.S. and international statistics. Besides statistical data in print, microfiche, and CD-ROM formats in Government Publications, the library subscribes to several statistical databases (restricted to SFSU students & faculty).

The Obama administration has started a new website, Data.gov, which is a catalog of datasets from government agencies. The Sunlight Foundation has announced a contest for developers who create the best application using the datasets from Data.gov. The top prize is $10K, and the deadline is August 7, 2009. See the article from the New York Times on Data.gov.

Changes in Government Publications

The Government Publications department has closed for renovation, but you can still check out our documents.

Now that the library building is closed, all documents must be paged from the online catalog. If you aren't sure which volume you want out of a set, call us at (415) 405-2517, and we'll help you with your search.
