Finding Collected Works and Thematic Catalogs

To find collected works by composer, search by WORDS in the InvestiGator catalog using the composer's name and "work*". For the broadest scope, also search using one of the following foreign language variants for "work": "werk*", "gesam*", "sammlung", "ausgab*", "oeuvre*".

To find thematic catalogs by composer, search by WORDS using the composer's name and "thematic catalog."

Finding Music Scores

When searching for scores by individual composers, or when searching for a song or piece in a volume of work, it is best to use the "keyword" feature in Investigator. It is best to put your keywords in quotes for more specificity. For example "john coltrane", or "skip to my lou". Once you get into the results list, you can use your limiters to search for your preferred material type
