About Bibliographic Citations

Any reference source used for research, including all websites, must be cited using an approved citation format. The purpose of citing references is to credit the original source, and to give the reader enough information to find the original source. By citing sources properly, you are establishing your own credibility as a scholar in the eyes of your instructor and future employers.

Using OneSearch for Citations

When you find resources using the Library's OneSearch service, the information about each result includes citation information in APA, MLA and Turabian / Chicago formats.  Copy and paste these citations to save time, but remember that "These citations are software generated and may contain errors. To verify accuracy, check the appropriate style guide."
