research on American Indians.

Special thanks to librarian Ann Shadwick, recently retired after 42 years of service to SF State and the College of Ethnic Studies.

Other Guides

You should also consult the research guides for specific ethnic groups and other academic areas depending on your topic.

Locating Books

To find books (and other materials) go to the Library homepage and under Focus your Search select Library Catalog. You can get the 3rd and 4th floor books yourself and you can request LRS items online and they will be delivered within 20 minutes (on business days) to the Book Check Out Desk on the 1st floor of the Library.

NOTE: It is best to search by "keywords" rather than "subject" unless you know the specific Library of Congress subject heading.
